PAPUA - In a groundbreaking effort that blends service and solidarity, the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 501/Bajra Yudha Kostrad, under the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, partnered with the people of Fuog Village, Aifat Selatan District, to clean and revitalize their environment. Held on Friday, November 22, 2024, this initiative marked the beginning of a collaborative journey toward a healthier and more vibrant community in Maybrat Regency, Papua Barat Daya Province.
The seeds of this remarkable campaign were sown through weeks of Social Communication (Komsos) led by the 501 Task Forces. Under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Yakhya Wisnu Arianto, discussions with Fuog’s community leaders highlighted the need for an environmental cleanup. A shared plan was formed, and a date was set for the soldiers and villagers to join forces in cleaning the village roads, gutters, and residential areas.
On the agreed day, the spirit of cooperation was palpable. Soldiers and villagers worked side by side, turning the cleanup into a powerful statement of unity. By midday, Fuog Village looked transformed its streets and surroundings cleaner and its people inspired.
“Thank you, Commander 501. Fuog Village is clearer now. God bless, ” said Mr. Maro Fatemyo, a local community leader, beaming with gratitude and pride at the success of the initiative.
This cleanup effort is not just about a cleaner environment; it reflects a larger commitment to progress and collaboration. Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, Commanding General of HABEMA, commended the initiative:
